Clevelanders and cat lovers alike are invited to join Artsy on the far east side of Cleveland next month for a fundraiser aimed at feeding stray kitties.
Your admission to Artsy’s Paint Mixer to take place from 1 to 4 p.m. April 24 at the Leroy Township VFW, located at 12827 Warren Road in Painesville will directly benefit Holy Cat Whiskers, an organization improving the lives of stray and ferrel cats in Madison.
“It’s strictly for the cats,” Holy Cat organizer Nancy Kranstuber said.
Operating exclusively through donations and funds generated during special events, the mostly-cageless shelter organization works to spay, neuter and find permanent homes for the surging ferrel cat population in Madision.
“The paint party is something brand new,” Kranstuber said. “I know they’re really hot right now, so I thought it would be a good way to buy a couple extra bags of food and litter.”
Participants in next month’s events will recreate the image above under the instruction of professional art instructor and realist painter, Linda Merchant.
Artists of all levels are invited to enjoy light snacks and browse from the VFW bar menu while they benefit felines, relax with friends and get their feet wet painting.
Admission to the event is $40. Sign up for the fundraiser online, or call Artsy for more information about the event or how to register at (216) 577-4327.
