Build your own terrarium with Artsy Academy

Build your own terrarium at Artsy Academy’s locally-sourced Terrarium Workshop, taking place at Lake Affect Studios!

Our Terrarium Artist, Ana, will explain assembly and care, while you enjoy drinks from Lake Affect’s excellent Bar. In addition to Ana’s instruction, admission to Artsy’s Terrarium Workshop includes materials such as hand blown glass containers, sustainably harvested Appalachian moss, hand made glow in the dark (glass) mushrooms and quartz crystal points to help create your living work of art.

GROUPONS are not valid for Artsy’s DIY Terrarium events, however, Artsy encourages sustainability and extends a $20 discounted admission rate to participants who bring their own terrarium container. Containers could include old incandescent light bulbs, interesting thrift store jars or vessels leftover from previous self-contained garden endeavors.

Instruction and artisan accents are still provided for participants’ repurposed projects at the only Eco-friendly terrarium workshop in the city of Cleveland.

Description:

Artsy's fresh approach to paint and sip includes neon paint and black lights

Artsy is hosting a Black Light Paint Night at Rock Bottom in the Waterfront, featuring mandalas, food, drinks and instruction from a local artist!

All materials are provided, including an apron and your own wearable glow stick. Paired with the black lights, your personal glow stick will light up your canvas. Please note, lights will be lowered when the event kicks off, so you will be able to see, however your surroundings will be lit up in a new way!

“The mandala is an archetypal image,” Carl Jung said. “It signifies the wholeness of the self.”

Mandalas are comprised of balanced visual elements symbolizing unity and harmony. Each mandala is unique to the individual creating it, and Artsy instructors encourage playful self expression. Rock Bottom’s private room will provide a pressure-free atmosphere where even the most novice artist can create something they love.

Amplify your evening with a menu featuring craft beers brewed on site by Rock Bottom Brewmaster Meg Evans and made-from-scratch grub executed under the direction of Executive Chef Gregory Ripple.

Rock Bottom is situated along the Steel Valley Trail in the Bride section of the Waterfront’s outdoor mall. Participants are invited to take in the river walk after their event in order to adjust to natural lighting, or walk off any site-brewed beer they enjoyed before driving home.

As always, Artsy events are eco-friendly, since Artsy is committed to using reusable, handmade and recycled supplies and materials. Additionally, Artsy contributes a portion of our proceeds to Colorado-based charity Trees, Water & People’s Tribal Renewable Energy program, which helps people and the planet.
